Public Safety Cadet Program
$10.48/HR
Benefits:
The Denver Public Safety Cadet Program provides an excellent
opportunity for a paid college education while receiving part-time
work experience and practical training within the Denver Department
of Safety. The City and County of Denver will pay in-state
college tuition and textbook fees at Metropolitan State College
or the University of Colorado at Denver for full-time students.
A Public Safety Cadet earns an hourly wage for 25 hours of
work per week during the school year and 39 hours per week
during the summer in assignments at the Fire, Police or Sheriff
Departments and other Public Safety agencies.
Requirements:
Þ Graduation from high school or possession of a GED
certificate plus
the ability to meet the minimum qualifications for acceptance
into Metropolitan State College or the University of Colorado
at Denver.
Þ U. S. Citizenship
Þ Possession of a valid driver's license at the time
of application.
Þ No felony convictions
Þ No use of illegal drugs within the 12 months prior
to application
Þ Applicant should have no more than 2 years (60 credits)
of completed
college education.
